- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil and sauté onions until translucent. Add garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Stir in ground beef; brown thoroughly for about 7-10 minutes.
- Pour marinara sauce into the skillet; simmer for 10 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with optional egg, salt, pepper, and basil.
- In a baking dish, layer meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella. Repeat layers finishing with mozzarella on top.
