  • 2 cups cooked turkey, shredded or cubed
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 pre-made pie crust (top and bottom)
  • Fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary, or sage) to taste
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté diced onion until translucent; add minced garlic until fragrant.
  2. Sprinkle flour over the mixture; cook for 2 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Gradually whisk in chicken broth followed by heavy cream. Stir until thickened.
  4. Fold in turkey and frozen vegetables; let simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Spoon filling into a pie dish lined with one crust; cover with another crust and seal edges. Cut slits for steam.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
