  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp mustard powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Cook elbow macaroni in salted water until al dente (7-8 minutes). Drain and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour for 1-2 minutes until smooth.
  3. Gradually whisk in milk, then stir in shredded cheeses until melted and creamy.

  5. Mix panko with melted butter and sprinkle over mac before baking at 350°F (175°C) for about 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
