  • 6 cups stale brioche or challah bread, torn into pieces
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Place the torn bread pieces in a large bowl and set aside.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until smooth.
  4. Pour the custard mixture over the bread and let soak for 15 minutes.
  5. Grease a baking dish and transfer the soaked mixture evenly into it.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving with caramel sauce or whipped cream.
