Description

Thai mango sticky rice is a delightful dessert that combines the sweetness of ripe mangoes with rich coconut milk and chewy glutinous rice. This traditional Thai dish is not only visually stunning but also incredibly easy to make, making it perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup glutinous rice
  • 1 cup full-fat coconut milk
  • 2 ripe mangoes, sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Optional: Sesame seeds or mung beans for topping

Instructions

  1. Rinse glutinous rice under cold water until clear. Soak for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  2. Drain and steam rice in a lined steamer for 20-25 minutes until tender.
  3. In a saucepan, combine coconut milk, sugar, and salt over low heat until sugar dissolves.
  4. Transfer cooked rice to a bowl; add two-thirds of the coconut sauce and mix gently.
  5. Slice mangoes and arrange them alongside the sticky rice on a serving plate.
  6. Drizzle remaining coconut sauce over the top and add optional toppings before serving.
