  • 1 French baguette, sliced into 1-inch thick pieces
  • 8 oz flank or sirloin steak
  • 8 oz cremini and shiitake mushrooms, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp olive oil, divided
  • 2 tbsp fresh basil or parsley, chopped
  • 2 tbsp balsamic glaze

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush with 1 tablespoon olive oil. Bake for 5-7 minutes until golden.
  2. 2. Season steak with salt and pepper. In a hot skillet over medium-high heat, sear the steak for about 3 minutes per side until browned. Let it rest before slicing thinly against the grain.
  3. 3. In the same skillet, add remaining olive oil if needed, then sauté mushrooms and garlic for about 5 minutes until golden brown.
  4. 4. Assemble bruschetta by layering sautéed mushrooms and sliced steak on toasted baguette pieces. Drizzle with balsamic glaze and sprinkle with fresh herbs.
