Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • Honey (for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Create a well in the center and gradually add warm water until a soft dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  4. Roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thickness and cut into squares or triangles.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat until shimmering (about 350°F). Test with a small piece of dough; if it sizzles immediately, it's ready.
  6. Fry pieces of dough until golden brown (1-2 minutes per side) and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve warm, drizzled with honey.
