Instructions

  2. In a bowl, whisk together cake flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time followed by vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix in dry ingredients alternately with milk until just combined.
  6. Divide batter into three bowls; color one red and another blue using gel food coloring.
  7. Spoon colored batters into prepared pans and swirl gently with a knife.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool completely before frosting.
