  • 34 medium Russet potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups grated Gruyère cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp butter (for greasing)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. Thinly slice the russet potatoes using a sharp knife or mandoline for even cooking.
  3. In a bowl, mix the heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Layer half of the potato slices in the baking dish, pour half of the cream mixture over them, and sprinkle half of the Gruyère cheese on top.
  5. Repeat with the remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and finish with another layer of cheese.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
