- 1 cup powdered sugar (120g)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (5ml)
- 2 tbsp heavy cream (30ml)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Clean your workstation and gather tools.
- Sift together almond flour and icing sugar twice.
- In a separate bowl, whisk egg whites until frothy. Gradually add granulated sugar, whisking until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold in food coloring, being careful not to deflate the mixture.
- Pipe small circles onto parchment-lined baking sheets and let rest for 30 minutes until a skin forms on top.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until firm but not browned. Cool completely before removing from parchment.
- For the filling, beat softened butter until creamy, then gradually mix in powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and heavy cream.
- Assemble by piping filling between two macaron shells.
