  • 1 cup frozen tater tots
  • 2 cups short pasta (cooked al dente)
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion until cooked through. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  2. Stir in garlic powder, salt, pepper, ketchup, mustard, and chicken broth. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  3. Add cooked pasta to the skillet and stir to combine. Cook for about 8–10 minutes until the pasta absorbs some broth flavor.
  4. Arrange frozen tater tots on top of the pasta mixture evenly.
  5. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake for 20–25 minutes until tater tots are golden brown.
  6. Remove from oven, sprinkle cheese on top, and return to bake for another 5 minutes until melted.
