- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes (no added sugar)
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp dried red pepper flakes (optional)
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a pan over medium heat, sauté minced garlic in olive oil until fragrant (1-2 minutes). Add crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Pour half the sauce into a greased baking dish, place chicken on top, then spoon remaining sauce over each breast.
- Top generously with mozzarella and sprinkle with parmesan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). Let rest before serving.
