Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • ⅔ cup honey
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: Combine warm milk and yeast in a small bowl; let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Make the dough: In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Create a well in the center; add melted butter, eggs, honey, and the yeast mixture. Stir until combined.
  3. Knead: Transfer dough onto a floured surface; knead for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. First rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm spot until doubled (about 1 hour).
  5. Shape buns: Punch down the risen dough gently. Divide into equal portions and shape into balls; place in a greased baking dish.
  6. Second rise: Cover shaped buns with cloth; let rise again for about 30 minutes until puffy.
  7. Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Glaze: Brush warm buns with melted butter mixed with honey.
