- 1 lb ground beef or lamb
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 small sweet onion, diced
- 4 whole pita breads
- 1 cup tzatziki sauce
- 1 cup lettuce, shredded
- 1 cup tomatoes, diced
- 2 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, mix ground beef or lamb with parsley, garlic, onion, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper until just combined.
- Roll the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place on a lined baking sheet.
- Bake for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Warm pita bread in foil during the last 5–10 minutes of meatball baking.
- Assemble by slicing open each pita and stuffing with several meatballs. Top with lettuce, tomatoes, and tzatziki sauce.
