- 9 lasagna noodles (no-boil preferred)
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 28 oz crushed tomatoes
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté for about 3 minutes until softened.
- Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, and Italian seasoning; simmer on low for 20 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese with salt, pepper, and half of the Parmesan.
- In a baking dish, layer meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella. Repeat layers until ingredients are used up.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
