  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 2 tbsp milk (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract; mix until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and cinnamon. Gradually add to the wet ingredients to form a soft dough.
  5. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill for at least one hour.
  6. Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to about half an inch thick.
  7. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar before rolling it up tightly.
  8. Slice into rounds about half an inch thick and place on a lined baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until slightly golden around the edges.
  10. Cool completely before drizzling with icing made from powdered sugar mixed with milk.
