  • 8 oz rotini or penne pasta
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups shredded cheese blend (mozzarella and cheddar)
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onions until translucent, then add garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet and brown until no longer pink. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  4. Stir in tomato sauce and Italian seasoning; let simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. Combine cooked pasta with the beef mixture and fold in shredded cheese gradually.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish, sprinkle more cheese on top, and bake for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
