- 3–4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 lb)
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 can (14 oz) whole peeled tomatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- 2 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tbsp garam masala
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp baking powder (for naan)
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 4 tbsp melted butter (for naan)
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken by combining yogurt, ginger, garlic, cumin, coriander, garam masala, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Coat the chicken thoroughly and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter and sauté finely chopped onions until golden brown (5-7 minutes).
- Add tinned tomatoes with their juices; simmer and mash lightly for about 10 minutes.
- Stir in heavy cream and let simmer for another 5 minutes.
- Add marinated chicken; cook until tender and cooked through (15-20 minutes).
- For garlic naan, mix flour with baking powder and salt; gradually add water to form dough. Roll into circles and cook on a hot pan until bubbles form.
