Description

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup whole milk (warm)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs (beaten)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup mixed nuts (finely chopped; walnuts or pistachios)
  • ½ cup honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk and active dry yeast. Let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Add melted butter and beaten eggs to the dry ingredients; stir until combined to form a shaggy dough.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and allow it to rise in a warm area until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  6. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle (¼-inch thick), brush with melted butter, sprinkle with nuts mixed with cinnamon and sugar.
  7. Roll tightly into a log, slice into buns, and place on a baking sheet.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
