Description

Guinness Chocolate Cake is a decadent dessert that harmoniously blends rich chocolate and deep stout flavors, making it an unforgettable treat for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup Guinness stout
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream (for frosting)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and sugar in a large bowl.
  3. Melt butter with Guinness over low heat until warm. Gradually mix into dry ingredients while whisking to combine.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing gently, then stir in vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Divide batter evenly between pans and bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool cakes on racks. For frosting, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
  7. Stack layers with frosting in between and cover the top and sides generously with remaining frosting.
