Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder (unsweetened)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (cold, cubed)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips (high-quality)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and cold butter until crumbly. Add egg yolk and mix until dough forms.
  3. Chill the dough wrapped in plastic for 30 minutes.
  4. Roll out the chilled dough to 1/8-inch thick and cut into circles for mini tart pans.
  5. Press circles into pans, prick bottoms with a fork, and bake for 10-12 minutes until firm but not browned. Cool completely.
  6. Melt heavy cream and dark chocolate chips in a saucepan over low heat. Stir until smooth; add vanilla extract.
  7. Pour warm chocolate filling into cooled tart shells and let set at room temperature or refrigerate for quicker results.
