Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Cover the dough with plastic wrap and chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
- Roll out chilled dough to about ¼ inch thick on a floured surface. Cut out shapes with cookie cutters and place them on lined baking sheets.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly golden. Let cool completely before decorating.
