  • ½ cup dry Prosecco
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries (pureed)
  • 3 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream (cold)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two round 9-inch cake pans.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together cake flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients alternately with whole milk, starting and ending with the flour mixture.
  5. Gently fold in Prosecco until just combined.
  6. Divide the batter evenly between prepared pans and bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely before frosting.
