  • 2 Earl Grey tea bags
  • 2 large eggs

  • ½ cup whole milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.
  2. Steep tea bags in boiling water for 5 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy (3-5 minutes). Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
  4. Mix in steeped tea and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients (flour and baking powder) alternating with milk until just combined.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool in pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
