  • 8 large cabbage leaves
  • 1 lb lean ground beef or turkey
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
  • 1 cup tomato sauce (for serving)
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Blanch cabbage leaves in boiling water for about 2 minutes until softened.
  2. In a bowl, mix ground meat, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika until well combined.
  3. Lay a cabbage leaf flat and place about 2 tablespoons of meat mixture in the center. Fold sides and roll up tightly.
  4. Place cabbage rolls seam-side down on a lined baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes until cooked through.
  5. Serve hot with tomato sauce drizzled over or sprinkled with cheese if desired.
