  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 6 oz tortilla chips
  • 1 cup chunky salsa
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions
  • Fresh cilantro (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a large baking dish with non-stick spray.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until no longer pink. Drain excess fat and stir in taco seasoning according to package instructions.
  3. In the greased baking dish, layer half of the tortilla chips, followed by half of the beef mixture, half of the salsa, and half of the cheese. Repeat these layers.
  4. Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  5. Let cool slightly before garnishing with sour cream, green onions, and cilantro if desired.
