Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ribeye or sirloin steak
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 1/4 cup pure honey
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium sweet onion, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil

Instructions

  1. Rinse rice under cold water until clear. Combine with 2 cups of water and pinch of salt in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, and cook for 15 minutes until fluffy.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season steak with salt and pepper; sear for 4-5 minutes per side until desired doneness. Remove and let rest.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté onions and garlic until translucent (about 3-4 minutes).
  4. Add BBQ sauce and honey; stir well before pouring in heavy cream until smooth.
  5. Slice rested steak against the grain; return to skillet along with cooked rice. Gently fold everything together until evenly coated.
  6. Serve topped with chopped green onions.
